A passphrase is a password made from multiple words. It can be easier to type, read over a call, or remember temporarily.
Passphrases work best when the words are chosen randomly. A clever sentence you made up may be easier to guess than a random sequence of unrelated words.
Use passphrases for human-entered secrets. Use random character passwords when a password manager will store and autofill them.
