App Store Screenshot Size Checklist
Current App Store Connect screenshot dimensions for iPhone and iPad, with a local browser workflow to crop and export before upload.
Apple now treats 6.9-inch iPhone and 13-inch iPad screenshots as the primary submission sizes for many apps. If your app supports both iPhone and iPad, you generally need at least one valid screenshot for each class—not a single set scaled across devices.
Required sizes to verify first
Before exporting anything, open Apple’s screenshot specifications and confirm the latest list. As of 2026-06-16, these are the sizes developers most often need:
| Asset | Portrait | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| iPhone 6.9″ | 1290 × 2796 (also 1320 × 2868) | Primary iPhone submission size |
| iPhone 6.5″ | 1284 × 2778 | Fallback when 6.9″ set is not provided |
| iPad 13″ | 2064 × 2752 (also 2048 × 2732) | Required when the app runs on iPad |
| App Store icon | 1024 × 1024 | Marketing icon upload |
Formats: JPEG or PNG. Dimensions must match exactly—App Store Connect rejects off-by-one uploads.
Local workflow (no upload)
- Capture or design your source screenshot at the highest resolution you have.
- Open App Market Image Resizer and choose App Store.
- Select the presets you need (for example iPhone 6.9″ + iPad 13″).
- Upload or paste the source image, adjust the crop for each preset, and Export zip.
- Review the checklist panel, then upload from App Store Connect.
All processing stays in your browser.
Common mistakes
- Uploading a 6.9″ file into the 6.5″ slot (pixel dimensions must match the bucket).
- Using only iPhone screenshots when the app supports iPad.
- Exporting WebP or HEIC—stick to PNG/JPEG for Connect uploads.
Rules change. Always treat Apple’s official page as the source of truth on submission day.
